Together Kitchen Garden

About the project

PROJECT TITLE: Together Kitchen Garden

LOCATION: Tameside

FUNDING: Awarded £7,475 in Round One of the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund

PARTNERS: The Together Centre

The idea

To create an empowering eco-therapy allotment and garden space where children will be able to take part in ecotherapy whilst exploring and supporting their natural environment. The produce harvested by them will be placed within a community pantry, where families can collect a free fresh food parcel weekly.

A team of 53 grassroot volunteers will deliver meaningful ‘grow your own fruit and vegetable’ wellbeing sessions and more, all open for all abilities. This was identified as a gap in local provision during a recent community consultation with local families and children. The project will engage up to 74 local children on a weekly basis.Â
