About the project

PROJECT TITLE: The Forever Fields

LOCATION: Manchester

FUNDING: Awarded £39,848 in Round Three of the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund

DELIVERED BY: Manchester Urban Diggers CIC

The idea

The Forever Fields project is aimed at enhancing a section of underused land adjacent to the street for local residents to engage with nature through play, experimentation and growing. We intend to include extensive new hedging and tree planting, food growing space, accessible raised beds, willow fencing, natural play equipment and seating areas. MUD will provide educational and volunteering opportunities 3 days a week in the space to develop the features with the public, plant and maintain the hedges and trees, revive an existing orchard on the site and grow a substantial amount of food with and for the public.
