The idea

We will transform under-used former wasteland into an accessible ‘pocket-park’ incorporating imaginative landscaping, a variety of habitats to enhance biodiversity, and sustainable natural play areas; realising its potential. Involving volunteers and end-users in the build and final details, we will also engage local people in wood-working skills, encouraging biodiversity, and food-growing training sessions; empowering communities to get involved with nature. With an additional focus on children & guardians – the groups who have most identified the need for this – we will encourage participation and use via schools, our Parent & Toddler group, and through School Holiday sessions and weekend events.
