About the project

PROJECT TITLE: Stockport Trail of Art and Pollinators Patches (STAPP)

LOCATION: Stockport

FUNDING: Awarded £39,419.09 in Round Three of the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund

DELIVERED BY: Cheshire Wildlife Trust

The idea

The project wants to help the community bring wildlife back to Stockport. They will be creating three pollinator patches with local groups and businesses, embedding nature into the fabric of their town. Alongside these pollinator patches, they will be creating pieces of art based around vulnerable species found in urban areas, to raise awareness of their decline and the benefits greenspaces have on their recovery. They want to make nature an ordinary expectation by working with the community in town centre locations lacking in greenspace; bringing nature to where people are rather than expecting people to drive to where nature is.
